Big Bang - "let's not fall in love"
After most of BigBang's head-banging party hits from the made album they have now taken the beat to a romantic pace. This MV is sure to collect some hearts as there is definately 'love in the air'. With sincere words and a low key tone in the begining and throughout the song complementing the beat (which they have not lost) as it dwadles along. Announcing the difficulty to start a serious relationship and/or getting out of the friendzone with a girl - an all to familiar game for both genders.
The pastel colours give the music video a soft blur which fits the song well, as it produces an almost serene atmosphere or a sense of familiarity and comfort that comes with pleasant memories. While all the members take part in their own fluffy romances it reveals the cute/shy boyfriend concept that Big Bang has not experimented with much in previuos music videos, as they pose as strong and charasmatic idols. This music is so lovable and the aesthetics are great for a hazy summer and the dress-down look appears comfortable and stylish on all the members: even G-Dragon has toned down his fashion style to a more ordinary appearence; I guess it's to portray the concept of an average love story. My favourite section is where some of the members are in the rain with their "love interest". The scene is so romantic it makes any girl/boy want to take their place.
I love Taeyang's hair colour but not so much of the frizz/teased look, but that's overcome when you later see his hairstyle frame his eyes to reveal a good solo shot of Taeyang. Well, Daesung haircut first reminded me of the Dulux dog- whom is so cute. As his fringe/bangs cover most of his eye expressions; which is not to say that he heightens the cute factor of the music video with such a teased style and aegyo through body language. TOP on the other hand looks so peaceful and, my favourite scene is where he holds an adoreable expression of adoration, for the girl next to him- it definately made me crack a smile as well as stiffle a giggle.
To me the aim seems to depict the ultimate fangirl/fantasy with their idol in both a friendly and romantic way which the music video proposed such as the food fight and messing around in the rain. However, these same ideas are contrdicted by the very lyrics of the song. You feel the sincerity of the words as well as the assurance that although it has been fun the progress of the relationship has happened to quickly, despite a deep sense of passion between the roleplay.
With all these great songs on their MADE album it will be difficult for any fan to choose a favourite.
